WHY USE SOLID MODELING?
A true solid model opens the door to a wide variety of processing capabilities such as rapid prototyping, model rendering, interference detection, stress analysis, and part optimization. You can also easily extract physical data such as part volume and center of gravity.

Solid Modeling:
Parametric solid modeling is currently the state-of-the-art in the the computer-aided design world.
We started out using Alibre Design as our only CAD package. We now have two seats of SolidWorks as our primary
CAD package and a seat of Algor FEA software. We still use Alibre for compatibility with existing clients and
for our legacy data. While its impossible to enumerate all advantages of parametric solid modeling, here are a few:
|
Rapid Prototyping
Interference Detection
Finite Element Analysis
Topological Part Optimization
Exploded Assembly View Creation
Mechanism Movement Simulation
|
Part Volume Calculation
Center of gravity
Near Real-time design change process
Facilitates Visualization
Reduces Prototype Errors
Belt length and movement calculations
